Meet Your Guide

Sandra Laville

I believe that travel is one of the most meaningful experiences life has to offer. As your personal guide, my goal on this journey is for you to discover and truly experience Italy's most beautiful art treasures - and be transported back to the time and place where it was all made possible.

My greatest passion is bringing history to life by weaving the art into stories about the people and places behind it. I'm an officially licensed guide and have spent over 20 years passionately guiding travelers through Europe's cultural treasures in Florence, Rome, Paris and beyond. My academic training includes a Master's in Education, and a Master's in Art History from La Sorbonne University in Paris, where I specialised in Italian Renaissance painting. I lived in Italy like a local for over 15 years, and have a deep understanding of Italian culture, past and present.

Florence and Tuscany have a special place in my heart and I can't wait to welcome you - and peel back all the layers of culture, history and art.

FAQ

How Do I Get There?

Our hotel is located in the Chianti region, near a town called Reggello, about a 40-minute drive from Florence.

Arrival

To get to the hotel on Day 1, you can fly into Florence and then take a taxi or private transfer to the hotel from there. Alternatively, if you're not able to fly directly into Florence, you could also fly into Rome or Milan and take a train to Florence, and then continue by taxi or private transfer to the hotel from there. Inform us in advance if you would like us to arrange your transportation for you (at an extra cost.)

We generally recommend arriving one day early, if you can, to allow more time for travel within Italy, and to be able to relax a bit and adjust to the new time zone before we start our journey together on Day 1.

Departure

Our journey finishes in Florence, so you can catch your homebound flight directly from the airport in Florence. If there are no connecting flights from Florence to your home destination, you can also take a train to Rome or Milan to catch your homebound flight from there.

Our Journey finishes on Day 6 after lunch. Please arrange your departure anytime after 4pm.

Inform us in advance if you would like to arrive before Day 1 or stay after Day 6, and we can arrange your accommodation and transportation (at an extra cost.)

Is This Only for Women?

Not at all. Both men and women are welcome. You are welcome to bring along a friend or spouse, if you like.

What is Included?

All guided visits and transportation throughout the duration of the visit, Daily Breakfast, and some meals, as detailed in the itinerary.

What is Not Included?

Flights and transfers to the destination on Day 1, Flights and transportation home on Day 6, meals not listed in the itinerary, spending money, tips for driver and other providers, any personal purchases or activities outside the itinerary.

Do You Offer a Payment Plan?

Yes! We offer payment plans for 3, 4 or 5 monthly payments. We require a non-refundable deposit of 500€ to secure your spot, and then monthly recurring payments after that.

How Big is the Group?

The group will be from 10 to 12 people ideally, with a maximum number of 16. We keep group sizes small and intimate so that everyone has an authentic experience and can get to know the other members of the group.

Will I have a Private Room - Who Will I Share a Room With?

We offer both a private room option and a shared room option. If you choose the shared room option, we will pair you with a traveler we feel is a good match. We coordinate only same sex rooms.

Are tips mandatory?

While not mandatory in Italy, tips have come to be expected by some service providers, and are always a great way of showing them you appreciate a job well done. If you do feel you want to tip, the amount is at your discretion.

What if I Have to Cancel?

As a general rule, we do not issue refunds and all purchases are final, because of the nature of the travel arrangements and the costs involved in putting it together. However, we do understand that sometimes rare situations can come up that may cause you to cancel unexpectedly. Please review our cancellation policies carefully.

Please note that travel insurance for this trip is mandatory for all participants.

What if I am Not in Good Physical Shape?

Feel free to take things at your own pace, whenever necessary. The activities and guided visits on this trip involve quite a bit of walking, and generally require an average to good level of mobility. However, if at any moment you feel it is too much walking, you are always welcome to sit an activity out and join the group again at the next given moment. Please note that it will not be possible to alter the itinerary in any way to accommodate special requests on this account.

What if I Have Food Allergies?

Let us know if you have any dietary restrictions or food allergies in advance, and we will inform the hotel and the restaurants, to be sure that there is an appropriate option available for you whenever necessary.
